Anthony Davis clinched a win for the Los Angeles Lakers by hitting a buzzer-beater to beat the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday night.

However, AD also faced questions regarding his occasional lack of aggressiveness immediately after the game.

Former NBA legend and “Inside The NBA” commentator Charles Barkley asked Davis why he sometimes exhibits tentativeness on the offensive end of the floor. This came after Chuck criticized Davis at halftime for not having a “killer mentality.”

The Lakers star responded by saying he tries to make the right basketball play, though he noted even teammate LeBron James has previously told him to look for his shot more often:

Davis certainly has not lacked aggressiveness in the Nuggets series.

The former No. 1 overall pick has scored at least 31 points in each of the first two games. Davis poured in 37 in Game 1 before finishing Game 2 with 31 points after stunning the Nuggets with his game-winning dagger.

Davis has been a nightmare matchup for Denver. The Brow has gotten just about whatever he wants on the offensive end, repeatedly getting to the charity stripe while also showing off his full array of shotmaking with step-back jumpers and fallaways from the post.

It was James who had it going early in Game 2, scoring 20 points in the first half and making plays on both ends. LeBron shot just 1-for-6 in the fourth quarter, though, and the Lakers needed every bit of Davis' shotmaking to pull out a win and a 2-0 series lead.

The ability for Davis and James to defer and feed off one another is just one reason why the Lakers are so dangerous.

However, this might be the time of the playoffs where Davis looks to assert his dominance on the offensive end, especially when L.A.'s role players are struggling to make their contributions.
