Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James successfully found his rhythm and had a notable showing when he returned to play his former team in the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first time in the 2020-21 season. Lakers big man Anthony Davis already knew that the four-time MVP will be having a great game right after the first quarter of the tilt.

“The late in the game, I think, he hit three threes, got to the basket, got the steal for the dunk. He was everywhere on the floor. Making shots from everywhere. After the first quarter I knew it’s going to be a good night for him,” Davis said via Spectrum SportsNet.

Indeed, James needed to be all over the floor as the Lakers were challenged by the much-improved Cavaliers squad in a tightly-contested affair. Cleveland managed to hold their ground for the most part of the game but eventually ran out of gas in the final frame.

James also exploded for 21 points in the fourth quarter to outscore the entire Cavaliers unit and lift his squad over their counterparts. The Lakers proved to be the better team as they successfully executed on both ends of the floor to escape with a 115-108 victory.

The Ohio native topped the game in scoring after notching a season-high 46 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Davis followed with a double-double performance of 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers.

Los Angeles now improves to a 14-4 record to maintain their hold of the top spot in the Western Conference while Cleveland dropped to an 8-9 tally. The Lakers will be needing LeBron James' production when they match up against another top team in the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 27.
