Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley is determined to make an impact for his team, particularly on the defensive end of the floor in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Bradley said in an interview on Spectrum SportsNet that he will play with a chip on his shoulders next season. The veteran guard pointed out that he is committed to guarding and making every possession hard on the best guard of the opposing team.

“I have something to prove,” Bradley said, via Showtime Forum. “I'm looking forward to guarding the best guard on the opposing team. I'm going to make it my goal to go out there and make every possession hard on them. That's my focus.”

Bradley joined the stacked Lakers squad after he was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies. The 28-year-old guard agreed to a two-year deal worth $9.7 million with a player option on the second year. The defensive-minded guard is tipped to get a spot in the starting lineup of the Purple and Gold next season.

The nine-year veteran split the previous season between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Grizzlies. In 49 games with the Clippers, he posted 8.2 points, but showed significant improvement in Memphis. In 14 games for Grind City, he posted 16.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game.
