After acquiring Carmelo Anthony in free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers‘ new forward hit the practice court in preparation for the new season. In a video clip shared by Whistle, Melo channels his inner Stephen Curry by showing off some impressive three-point shooting.

It's a minute straight of Anthony hitting three after three without missing a single attempt. Melo typically shares workout videos like these in the offseason, but it's spectacular to witness regardless.

The Lakers front office traded away all of their top three-point shooters to acquire Russell Westbrook. With so many post-scoring players on the roster, LA needs someone who can knock down the three-ball. After watching this clip, LeBron James and company have to feel comfortable with Carmelo Anthony filling that role.

Of course, Melo is no Steph Curry, but Anthony will likely play a solid amount of time as a role player for the Lakers. He's proven to be a consistent scoring option the last two years playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, so Anthony will bring just that to LA in 2022.

With Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook garnering all of the attention, Anthony should be able to find some open space on the floor quite often. Los Angeles has a ton of older players on the roster, but they have the talent to make a run for another championship.

Anthony might be in the best situation for his career right now. He has never won a ring and now that he's side-by-side with LeBron, Melo has a chance to shine. It's still unknown what the starting lineup will look like in LA, but Carmelo Anthony will play an important role. He'll more than likely come off of the bench and be a scoring sixth-man for the Los Angeles Lakers this year.

Keep an eye on the Lakers though, as the front office continues to build a potential championship roster once again.
