In case you missed it, basketball cards have not only become one of the biggest trends of 2020, but more importantly, it has emerged as a very lucrative business venture as well. Take for instance this 1-of-1 “Logoman” card of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, which apparently, could sell for around $100,000.

For starters, here's a look at the ultra-rare LeBron card that could reportedly fetch up to a hundred grand in an auction (h/t TMZ Sports):

Lakers, LeBron James

According to the report, the new owner of this one-of-a-kind piece of basketball memorabilia is high-end card collector Erick Mitchell. He paid $70 for the rights to any Lakers card that would emerge from a random box basketball cards. He hit the jackpot when the LeBron card was revealed. This was part of a “live break” event hosted by Jaspy's Case Breaks, a card shop in Hermosa Beach, CA.

The card was part of a very expensive box of Panini Immaculate Premium Edition cards, which are worth $2,500 a pop. The kicker is that each box contains just six basketball cards. Nevertheless, at just $70 paid, Mitchell will now earn a significant profit from his investment. Quite a night for this card collector.

LeBron James is one of the biggest players in the game today, and is undeniably one of the greatest of all time. This is exactly why the value of his cards are much higher than most of his peers. The fact that there is only one piece of this ultra-rare basketball card out there explains why its value is sky high.
