The Big 3 draft took place on Monday evening and featured some notable names. In fact, former NBA Champion and Los Angeles Lakers star Metta World Peace was selected 9th overall in the first round and has joined the Trilogy.

Metta World Peace in the Big 3 makes too much sense. Another former Laker– Earl Clark– went 2nd overall. Metta was previously a co-captain for the Killer 3s and will be joining a new team in 2021.

The Big 3 has quickly become a smashing success, especially since Ice Cube has continuously recruited former NBA stars to join the league, making the 3-on-3 tournament more enjoyable every season.

World Peace was part of the 2010 NBA Finals team and hit some clutch shots down the stretch, including in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. And who can forget his time with the Indiana Pacers and the infamous Malice at the Palace?

The first game of the season will be played on July 10 in Las Vegas. For World Peace, he is out to prove he can still perform. During his tenure in the NBA and with the Lakers, he flashed brilliance primarily on the defensive end and was a pest.

Can Metta World Peace add another basketball championship to his resume in the Big 3?
