Three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner Jamal Crawford remains one of the more prominent free agents currently available on the market. At 39, teams appear to be hesitant to add the 6-foot-5 combo guard, perhaps concerned about whether or not Crawford still has enough gas left in the tank.

This is not something that worries former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, who firmly believes Crawford can still play at an NBA level. As a matter of fact, Arenas believes the Los Angeles Lakers would greatly benefit from bringing Crawford on board.

“I hope he goes to a team like the Lakers,” says Arenas, via Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy.com.

“They need your outside shooting.” Arenas continued. “They also need your creativity to provide more baskets and they need another guard. I feel Jamal Crawford in that type of situation would be great for both sides.”

Crawford isn't the player he once was, but he can still provide microwave scoring off the bench. Last season with the Phoenix Suns, the former eighth overall pick averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 0.5 steals in 18.9 minutes per contest. The veteran shot 33.2 percent on 3-pointers, so while he is no longer a truly feared marksman, he could still be able to provide some value for the Lakers off the bench.

Crawford also has 19 seasons under his belt, and this wealth of experience he possesses is also something he can bring to the table should Los Angeles decide to come calling. The Lakers won't have roster room if Dwight Howard makes the team, but there could be potential for a training camp deal and a camp battle.
