Heading into Saturday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, a lot of eyes were on Isaiah Thomas, as he was slated to make his debut for the Purple and Gold. He did not disappoint as he played a solid game for them, and was impressive in 30 minutes of action, finishing with 22 points and six assists.

It was quite surprising to see him receive a lot of playing time immediately, especially only landing with the Lakers two days prior. However, the 5-foot-9 point guard shared that he and Luke Walton had a conversation before the game, and he was apparently asked by his head coach if he had any restrictions. He then said that he had none, and made it known, via NBA TV, that he was grateful to Walton for being given the opportunity to strut his stuff in his first game for his new team.

Thomas has missed all but 15 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season as he recovered from a hip injury that he suffered in last season's playoffs. He has since been regaining his old form and now appears to be in great shape once again. It's definitely good news for the Lakers, but there are also still some questions left, especially about how he will accept coming off the bench once Lonzo Ball returns to action.

If Thomas' performance on Saturday is a sign of more good things to come from him as the season progresses, he could force Walton and company to decide if they will start him next to Ball, or even increase his playing time to reward him for his solid play.
