As the Boston Celtics arrive at Staples Center to face the Los Angeles Lakers, Purple and Gold legend Mychal Thompson didn't seem to be very welcoming of the team's visitors.

The Celtics are in the middle of a four-game California trip, which saw them earn impressive wins against the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. They will face the Lakers tonight before ending the trip against the LA Clippers on Monday.

The Lakers, on the other hand, are currently in a five-game losing streak. To make matters worse, third-year forward Brandon Ingram has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a blood clot found in his arm.  Sophomore guard Lonzo Ball has also been shut down for the rest of the campaign.

LeBron James will also reportedly be under minutes restriction, although the team hasn't decided on how many minutes he will play per game moving forward.

The Lakers beat the Celtics back in January, on a game-winner by Rajon Rondo.

Boston will look to exact revenge on their life-long rivals, as they also try to improve their record heading into the postseason

The Lakers-Celtics rivalry is considered as the greatest rivalry in the history of sports. Both teams have won a combined total of 35 NBA championships, with the former hoisting 18, while the latter has 17.
