While the Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for their first-round matchup with the Phoenix Suns, they've been handed a scary blow after it was made common knowledge that LeBron James broke the league's health and safety protocols. While it's unknown if the NBA will punish him yet, the Lakers have also just steered clear of another injury.

Guard Ben McLemore was involved in a single-car accident just hours after his team beat the Warriors in the No. 7 vs. No. 8 seed play-in game, according to TMZ.

McLemore reportedly crashed his ford truck after cops responded to a 911 call early Thursday morning. Luckily, the Lakers sharpshooter came out unscathed.

There were no charges nor was he arrested as it was clearly just some bad driving on McLemore's part. The former Houston Rocket signed with the Lakers in early April to add some depth on the perimeter. He's averaging eight points per night while shooting 37 percent from downtown.

While McLemore doesn't have a massive role in Los Angeles, he's still a worthy player to have on the floor thanks to his ability to make it rain from downtown.

The Lakers will ultimately be praying that Adam Silver doesn't reprimand LeBron for attending an event with the likes of Drake and Michael B. Jordan earlier this week. If he does, the defending champions will be in serious trouble against Chris Paul and the Suns.
