The Los Angeles Lakers may be receiving a boost this Monday when they take on the L.A. Clippers at Staples Center as the road team. According to the Lakers’ official Twitter account, power forward Larry Nance Jr. is well on his way to returning against their arena co-tenants

Nance has missed all of the Lakers’ past 11 games after breaking his hand during a Nov. 2 game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He underwent a surgery on Nov. 3 and he was deemed to be sidelined for at least four weeks, so the news of the former Wyoming Cowboy ready for a return on Monday suggests that his hand has been healing faster than what was originally expected.

Larry Nance Jr. has been an energizer bunny for the Lakers this season. In the eight games he’s played so far, the third-year forward averaged 10.6 points. In addition, Nance’s 7.5 rebounds per contest continue to pace the team notwithstanding his lengthy absence.

In lieu of Nance, Lakers head coach Luke Walton has put rookie Kyle Kuzma in the starting lineup while expanding the minutes of Julius Randle.

Since the Portland game, the Lakers have gone 5-6, though they have won two of their last three. The Lakers are coming off a letdown 113-102 loss to the Sacramento Kings, and will now be looking to bounce back against intracity rivals, Clippers.
