It seems like attaching Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James' name to anything can make it skyrocket in value.

The new Lakers superstar is easily one of the most well-known athletes in the world, so it would make sense that affiliating his name with something would boost its popularity, and therefore its value.

Earlier this offseason, James showed up to a Lakers summer league game rocking some purple and yellow Lakers shorts. While they looked like regular old Laker's shorts, they were retailing at 500 dollars.

Despite this price, the shorts connection to LeBron made them sell out almost immediately after he was pictured in them.

This made it clear that there was some profit to be made if you owned anything with a LeBron connection. Fortunately for some anonymous internet user, he discovered the perfect opportunity to make a quick buck.

The owner of the domain name “Lebron.com” is willing to part with his site for the hefty fee of $4,650,000.

“The price is firm at $4,650,000 USD, and the seller does not wish to negotiate.”

This is an interesting sales tactic. There are few people in this world that can spend over four million dollars on a website. Perhaps the seller is hoping the Lakers franchise itself will bite and purchase the domain in honor of their new superstar?

Regardless, LeBron is a proven money maker and the Lakers are predicted to see a large uptick in viewership and popularity after landing the biggest fish of free agency.
