Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James says the injury Duke star Zion Williamson suffered on Wednesday against North Carolina looked like the injury he sustained on Christmas Day vs. the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.

James slipped awkwardly and suffered a left groin injury. It was the most severe injury of LeBron's career, as he missed 17 consecutive games:

Duke announced after the game that Zion Williamson suffered a mild knee sprain. It's unclear which ligament Zion injured, although many speculated on Wednesday it was an MCL injury.

Injuries are out of an athlete's control. They can happen to anyone at any moment. But because it happened to a star player like Williamson, the discussion of whether college players should be paid has gotten hot again.

As for LeBron James, The King and the Lakers open up the second half of the season on Thursday when they host James Harden and the Houston Rockets. Los Angeles is currently out of the playoff picture, so every game is going to be important for them moving forward.

James is averaging 26.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game this season while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 67.9 percent from the free-throw line.
