The stars were in the building for Saturday's marquee matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. One of them happened to be Rams Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford who was sitting courtside as LeBron James put on an epic show for Laker nation.

At one crucial juncture in the ballgame, LeBron had a special message for Stafford as The King made his way on to the basketball court:

“I can’t have you in the building and not put on a show,” LeBron told the Rams star.

And put on a show he absolutely did. Lebron led the way for the Lakers with a mind-blowing 56-point performance — his career-high in a Lakers jersey — to defeat Stephen Curry and the Warriors. For his part, Stafford was simply in awe of James' greatness.

You cannot undermine just how big a win this was for the Lakers. Not only was LA coming off an embarrassing blowout loss to their cross-town rivals in the Clippers, but this squad had also lost all four of its games since after the All-Star break. LeBron James knew what was at stake in this one and he made sure to step it up for his team — especially with Stafford in the building.
