Following LeBron James' regular season debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, the King has now fallen to an eye-opening 0-4 record when joining a new team. Thursday night's 128-119 loss at the Moda Center against the Portland Trail Blazers marked the fourth time James lost in his debut, despite pouring in 26 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

This includes his first-ever regular season game in 2003 — a 106-92 loss to the Sacramento Kings, an 88-80 loss to the Boston Celtics right after his move to the Miami Heat in 2010, then another L to the New York Knicks (95-90) upon returning to Cleveland in 2014.

While this is a curious trivia bit, LeBron James has also managed to reach the NBA Finals for eight straight seasons as well as made the playoffs for 13 straight years — much more than most NBA mortals could say about their own fortune.

Last night's game does show there are ways to go for the Lakers to put their stamp on the Western Conference, as they were pounded on the glass by the Blazers, as well as the 3-point line.

LeBron James was true to nature with an efficient 9-of-14 shooting night, but failed to connect from deep (0-for-4) and coughed the ball up six times in his debut in purple and gold.
