It was a heated encounter between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, as the defending champs took on the Hawks in the State Farm Arena. Things got a bit feisty when LeBron James featured in what looked like a heated exchange with a Hawks fan sitting courtside.

Here's a look at the incident in question which actually prompted a brief delay in the game (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

The details of the exchange have yet to be revealed, except that there was a fan in the stands that was incessantly jawing at LeBron. Clearly, though, it was serious enough for the game officials to actually call security to address the situation. The broadcast crew even believed that the fan involved was going to be escorted out of the building.

James is no stranger to criticism, and he's probably the most jawed at player whenever the Lakers visit opposing teams' arenas. As such, LeBron has gotten used to the usual smack talk day in and day out. However, the fan involved in this particular exchange must have said or done something that warranted James' attention.

LeBron is usually a cool customer, but there are some occasions that fans go overboard. This might be one of those instances.
