Election day arrived and LeBron James wanted to make sure his voice was heard ahead of people going to the voting booths. The Los Angeles Lakers star tweeted yesterday a video of him endorsing Georgia's Democratic candidate for Governor Stacey Abrams.

“Georgia, waddup!” James started. “LeBron James here. “I just want to say that obviously tomorrow is election day. Make sure you go vote for Stacey Abrams for Governor.”

He ended the video with a link to Abrams' website so voters could go see where the polling locations were.

Abrams' official Twitter account tweeted, “Georgia, it's game time. Let's put our power forward to vote and win this election tomorrow. Thank you @KingJames for the support. Grateful to have you on #TeamAbrams!”

According to FiveThirtyEight's projections, Abrams, has a 6 in 100 chance of taking the Governor's seat from Republican Brian Kemp.

This is not the first time James has made an endorsement for a political candidate. In 2020, former United States President Donald Trump said during a rally in Pennsylvania that James “sucks” which was followed by the four-time championship to endorse current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the past, James referred to Trump as a “bum” and spoke about the importance of the power the seat in the Oval Office has on the rest of the world.

“[Trump] doesn’t understand the power that he has for being the leader of this beautiful country,” James said at the time. “He doesn’t understand how many kids, no matter the race, look up to the president of the United State for guidance, for leadership, for words of encouragement. He doesn’t understand that, and that’s what makes me more sick than anything.”
