Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has had himself one heck of a career, dominating the NBA essentially right since he came into the league in 2003. James is now in Year 19 of his career and is still playing at a high level as one of the best players in the world.

Monday, SB Nation's Brady Klopfer tweeted that LeBron has now spent exactly half his life in the NBA. The Lakers star took notice of the tweet and couldn't believe it:

This is truly wild to think about, and it's no surprise to see LeBron as shocked as he is.

LeBron James was born on Dec. 30, 1984 (he'll be 37 next week) and entered the NBA in the 2003 draft on June 26, 2003. He didn't make the All-Star Game in his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he has been an All-Star in every single season since then.

The King spent the first seven seasons of his career in Cleveland before the infamous Decision in which he took his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat. After four straight NBA Finals trips and his first two titles, LeBron returned to Cleveland for four more seasons, going to four more NBA Finals and finally bringing that elusive championship to his hometown team in 2016.

Then came the move to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, resulting in yet another title in 2020. LeBron James' Lakers have stumbled over the past season-plus, but he's still playing at a high level when he's on the court. As long as the stars are healthy (they aren't now) and Los Angeles gets in the playoffs, LeBron and Co. will be a threat.

The Lakers are currently 16-15 on the season. Coming up is a playoff rematch against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, but for now, LeBron can think in amazement about his long NBA career.
