Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James achieved a tremendous milestone on Saturday by passing Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on the all-time scoring list. LeBron logged 29 points in a disappointing 108-91 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers, but while it was a pretty forgettable performance for the Lakers all in all, it is undeniable that this astounding personal feat by James was cause for celebration.

For their part, Nike even released a new ad to mark this momentous occasion — something that unmistakably got LeBron's own seal of approval:

Nike brought back pop culture favorite Lil Dez for this new ad, and the end result is a perfect mix of hilarious and annoying. Lil Dez is not exactly a soft-spoken individual, and how he barraged LeBron with so many trivial questions about his new record just further points to the fact that the three-time NBA champ has scored a lot of points during his time in the league. A whole lot.

For the record, LeBron James passed Kobe Bryant's 33,643 career points on Saturday, as the former's 29-point effort on Saturday brought him up to 33,655 career points. LeBron is now sitting at the third spot of this esteemed list, with only Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar above him in the standings.

LeBron still has a ways to go before he overtakes the second-place Malone, who stands at 36,928 career points. Simple arithmetic tells us that James is still 3,273 points behind at this point. At his current pace, however, this is certainly an attainable goal for James, and he might be able to pass Kareem when all is said and done.
