Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James showed his love and appreciation for Ken Griffey Jr. after the MLB legend promised to be in attendance if LeBron and his son Bronny James ever play together.

Griffey Jr. has apparently been a huge supporter of LeBron ever since he stepped into the professional ranks in the NBA. Now, in a recent interview, he vowed his support to the James family even more by sharing his desire to watch if ever the father-and-son duo get to fulfill their wish of playing together in the league.

“When that happens, I'm going to be there. I'm going to take my dad to the game,” Griffey Jr. said, per The Sporting News.

Upon seeing Ken Griffey Jr.'s remarks, LeBron James took to Twitter to respond and thank him for the incredible gesture.

“One of my favorite people in the world!! Love you kid! Thank you for love and support from the first day I stepped on the scene,” the Lakers star said.

LeBron has made it no secret that he wants to play with his son Bronny James. In fact, he highlighted that he would want to join the team that would draft Bronny so he can play with his eldest child in what is expected to be his final year in the NBA.

Bronny will be draft eligible by 2024, so it will still be some time before LeBron gets that opportunity to wear the same jersey with his son. For what it's worth, Bronny has also expressed his desire to play in the NBA.

“Not too long ago, I said, I asked him, I said, ‘What you want to do with this? Like, you want to get to the pros? What you want to do?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘Cause I want to make a name for myself.’ … And when I heard that, ‘Well, let’s f—–g get it.’ That’s all I needed to hear,” LeBron said during a recent episode of The Shop.

It remains to be seen where LeBron and Bronny end up playing. Of course it'll be great if it's with the Lakers, but it's hard to say what will happen. One thing is certain, though: tons of people are like Griffey Jr. are already looking forward to that moment.
