LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have not exactly met expectations so far this season. The Lakers are 3-5 and have struggled on the defensive end, as well as at the end of games. While Magic Johnson previously stressed patience, a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin says the Lakers legend has already put head coach Luke Walton on notice.

It has become clear that head coach Luke Walton needs to start winning much sooner rather than later. However, at least for now, LeBron is still backing Walton both publicly and privately.

The Lakers have a lot of talent, though it is not surprising that they have started slow given all the new pieces in place. Los Angeles was also without Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo for several games after a brawl ensued in a game against the Houston Rockets. The absence of two key players doesn't exactly help an already struggling team, and Walton is tinkering with lineups and trying to figure out the most effective units.

“I think Luke's trying to figure out what works best,” James said. “We knew it was going to be like that from the summer when ‘Zo had the knee surgery. We knew we were going to have a lineup change there. Obviously, we had the unexpected one when we had the suspensions, so we had a lineup change there….”

LeBron has voiced his confidence in Walton and realizes that the Lakers consist of a lot of young talent, so things could take time to start clicking. James has seen his share of struggles over the years and is no stranger to adversity. How the Lakers respond will be fascinating.
