LeBron James’ very first game in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey was a new experience for him and NBA fans across the world, as he donned the purple and gold for the first time after 11 years with the Cleveland Cavaliers and four with the Miami Heat.

The King took to Instagram to share just how surreal this experience was for him, even if it was merely a preseason game against the Denver Nuggets.

James opened up his scoring tally with the Lakers with a deep 3-pointer, and he scored nine points during his 15-minute stint on the court before taking to the bench. Los Angeles lost 124-107, though he was a plus-1 in his time on the court.

LeBron’s rapport with fellow projected starters Brandon Ingram and JaVale McGee looked sharp, as they tallied 16 and 17 points, respectively, making the most of his court vision and timely feeds.

This is one of many times in which we’ll see James don a Lakers jersey, given the 33-year-old committed to a four-year, $154 million pact earlier this summer.

James isn’t expected to see much preseason action, so most of time on the floor will take place once the regular season tips off on Oct. 18 when the Lakers take on the Portland Trail Blazers on the road.
