Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and the rest of the league is still adjusting in playing in games without fans because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The King expressed his joy of playing in front of a cheering or jeering crowd and admitted that he misses seeing and interacting with fans at the games.

“I definitely love playing in front of the fans. The fans are what make the game,” James said via Mark Medina of USA Today. “Without the fans, I wouldn’t be who I am today. To all the fans out there that come watch me play, I miss you guys and hopefully someday I can get back to that interaction.”

James is also hopeful that the coronavirus will end as soon as possible so that some kind of normalcy can return and fans will be allowed back in arenas.

“The fans are missed,” James said. “I hope that someday the pandemic and COVID can get under wraps, and we can take all the precautions that’s needed and get it figured out in America where we can get our fans back into our arenas and stadiums and things of that nature. Its huge for sports.”

The three-time NBA champion wasn't very welcoming of playing without fans when the league initially considered the idea back in March. He then changed his position after learning about the NBA's safety concerns for fans and players alike.

It doesn't seem like James will get his wish soon as the NBA may reportedly proceed with the 2020-21 season without fans as well. So far, the bubble has been a success in terms of keeping the players safe while they play basketball. However, games just don't feel the same without the electricity of the crowd.
