Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his squad minus Anthony Davis are set to face the revamped Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. When asked regarding his thoughts about the league's newest trio, James was quick to remind basketball fans that the former trio of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson with the Golden State Warriors possessed a similar level of firepower that the Nets have today.

Of course, his lengthy battles against the Warriors trio definitely left a mark in the minds of fans everywhere. James' Cleveland Cavaliers squad went up against the Warriors in two straight NBA Finals from 2014 to 2016. Eventually, Kevin Durant's arrival to the Bay Area instated two more Finals encounters between the two teams from 2016 to 2018.

With another trio on the rise, James' Lakers squad will surely be tested when they vie for their second consecutive title later on. However, Thursday's matchup won't be a fair barometer for the capabilities of the two teams as several key guys will most likely miss the contest.
Davis continues to be sidelined due to his Achilles injury while the Nets' Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are both nursing their hamstring and back injuries, respectively. Nonetheless, the Lakers are sure to aim for a statement win against the league's new powerhouse team.
Needless to say, LeBron James will definitely be ready to step up to the plate and defend his team's title against the Nets' trio along with the rest of the league come postseason.
