The Los Angeles Lakers won't be making the playoffs this season, and they are already preparing themselves for this summer's free agency. They have enough cap space to sign one player to a max deal, and they are expected to go after guys like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson and Kemba Walker.

Following the team's 124-123 loss to the New York Knicks, LeBron James talked about the upcoming summer free agency. While the superstar forward did not give any specific detail in order to avoid “trouble,” he did say that there are a lot of great names who are going to hit the free agency market this July.

“There are a lot of great free agents this summer. Not going to name any names because every time I say something or our org says something about a specific person, we get in trouble,” LeBron said, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

As for his message to the upcoming free agents, LeBron just emphasized that the Lakers are an organization that just wants to win.

“Listen, at the end of the day this franchise wants to win & wants to win big, & one thing about the franchise is they cater to the players & that's it. Everything else comes secondary.”

Over the past couple of years, the Lakers have been involved in multiple tampering allegations, with the most recent ones involving New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis and Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons. Both players are handled by Rich Paul, who is also the agent of LeBron James.

After another frustrating season, the Purple and Gold will once again look for ways to improve the team in order to maximize James' time with the franchise. The four-time MVP has three years left in his contract, but he will also be playing his 17th year in the league next campaign.

It will be interesting to see what moves the Lakers make to put the team in a position to contend for a title in the near future.
