Before the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Clippers, LeBron James mentioned to Rajon Rondo that he was in James' dream that afternoon. Rondo jokingly responded, asking if he was holding up a trophy.

LeBron James has been out for the past month or so and finally came back for the contest with the Clippers. He had strained his groin in late December and has taken his time to nurse himself back to full health.

In the meantime, the Lakers have been struggling to float above .500. The pressure has gone onto the shoulders of Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma while James was out. It worked in some moments. It was inconsistent production, but production albeit.

With James return there's been murmurs of plenty of trade rumors. Anthony Davis told his agent that he would like to be traded away from the New Orleans Pelicans. He is under contract for the rest of this season and the next season. The Pelicans seem very hesitant to trade Davis to the Lakers.

They may wait for the Boston Celtics to resign Kyrie Irving or to let him go. The Rose Rule prohibits Davis and Irving to play on the same 30% rookie extension. Irving would have to sign an extension or Davis become a free agent before either of them could play on the same team

It will be interesting to see what Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson are able to put around LeBron James before the deadline is up next week.

The Lakers are now 26-25 and sit in the 9th seed of the NBA's Western Conference.
