The Los Angeles Lakers have a star in the making with rookie Lonzo Ball. The UCLA product already has fans of the storied franchise buzzing about his potential and the fact his presence may eventually result in the arrival of LeBron James.

On Friday, Ball turned 20 and got a special message on Twitter from the three-time NBA champion. Following the loss to the Toronto Raptors, Ball was asked about LeBron reaching out on Twitter with a birthday message.

“It's pretty cool,” Ball said of James' tweet to him. “My favorite player growing up. He wished me happy birthday. It's pretty cool.”

Over the past few months, speculation has run rampant about LeBron possibly joining the Lakers in NBA free agency next summer. The rumors have created so much buzz in Los Angeles and many believe James coming to Los Angeles is a foregone conclusion.

At this point, there's no telling whether LeBron will leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second time. There's so much basketball left to be played this season and the Cavs are still very much in contention to win another title.

However, if the Cavs fail to accomplish their goal this season or LeBron is truly fed up with owner Dan Gilbert's antics in Cleveland, the move to Los Angeles seems like a plausible one. Only time will tell as the Lakers brass is determined to land one or two superstars next summer with James more than likely in the crosshairs.
