The Los Angeles Lakers will hire two-time All-Star Antawn Jamison for a scouting role, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The 41-year-old played the last two seasons of his 16-year NBA career with the Lakers and the L.A. Clippers and has served as a TV analyst for the Lakers since retiring from the NBA in 2014.

Jamison is slated to work in the scouting department under Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson, general manager Rob Pelinka and assistant general manager Jesse Buss, according to Charania.

One of the first stretch-fours of the modern game, the Louisiana native was the fourth overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by Toronto Raptors, later traded to the Golden State Warriors. He averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists — averaging double figures through 13 of his 16 seasons in the league.

Jamison was an All-Star in 2005 and 2008, as well as winning the Sixth Man of the Year award as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. He memorably posted back-to-back 50-point games from Dec. 3-6, 2000 as a member of the Warriors.
