Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton says he's not going anywhere.

After ESPN published a report Friday morning claiming Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson met with Walton to discuss the team's slow start, speculation around the league is that Walton is now on the hot seat in Los Angeles.

The Lakers are 3-5 on the young season and have the third-worst defense in the NBA. The team is giving up a whopping 121.1 points per game.

Walton, however, is not worried about his job status with the Lakers, via ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward:

Any team with LeBron James on it is going to be under the spotlight like never before. Not even Magic Johnson expected the Lakers to be a championship contender this season, but apparently the Lakers legend believes the team should be better than what it is showing right now.

Can Luke Walton force his players to play better defense, though? There's only so much a coach can really do. Walton and his staff may have to implement better strategies and schemes on defense, but at the end of the day, it's up to the players to execute the game plan they are given and guard the other team.

The Lakers defeated the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night at home. They will look for their second straight win Saturday when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
