Magic Johnson loves every organization that he becomes part of. He traversed his way through college basketball with the MSU basketball program and became one of the best players of all time with the Los Angeles Lakers. Johnson has now transitioned as one of the loving owners of the Washington Commanders but has not forgotten his basketball roots. The legend even unveiled his predictions for this season's NCAA March Madness and NBA Championship in his latest post on X.

“My two favorite basketball teams in the world have a chance to win championships this year. The Los Angeles Lakers have a chance to win the NBA Championship and MSU’s men’s basketball team has a chance to win the NCAA Championship!” was the bold declaration that the Lakers legend dropped.

Magic Johnson's teams are in striking distance of bringing home championships to their fans. The Lakers currently sit fifth in the NBA's official power rankings. The Michigan basketball squad, on the other hand, resides in fourth place in the AP Poll standings. These may still have no bearing because their seasons have not started but optimism can never be too bad.

Johnson outlined why he is so giddy about both teams, “The Lakers and MSU are both talented, play exciting run-and-gun basketball, have deep rosters, and have outstanding coaches in Lakers Darvin Ham and Hall of Fame MSU Coach Tom Izzo!”

There is a lot to learn from these squads and their inability to win both the NBA Championship and last year's NCAA March Madness. But, the Lakers legend has one of the best minds when talking about basketball. He could just very well be right in his predictions.
