Los Angeles Lakers President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson admitted that his new-look team, while exciting, will have a particular flaw coming into this season.

While the run-and-gun style coach Luke Walton has pushed for can be thrilling and reminiscent of the Showtime era, Johnson noted his team was simply just not built for half court basketball.

“We can’t play half court basketball, because our team is not built for that, it's built for running,” said Johnson, according to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation.

The Lakers legend was not happy with the team's 122-104 loss in Ontario against the Denver Nuggets, adding that he'd “let it be known” that he was upset about it.

“That’s the only game I really disliked,” he added.

Los Angeles has shown plenty of promise with the likes of Kyle Kuzma posting impressive numbers and showing his early maturity despite being a rookie. However, the team has been beaten at their own game, now twice by a Denver Nuggets team that has proven to be more efficient filling the lanes and more dependable shooting the ball from deep.

The Lakers were finally able to pick up a win through a 75-69 outing against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, moving to 1-3 in the preseason before their final game against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.
