BIG3 sideline reporter and BarStool Sports podcast host Michael Rapaport had a brilliant idea to finally silence the often-opinionated father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball. The longtime sports voice had a unique take on shutting down LaVar Ball — by playing by his very own rules.

Rapaport suggested Walton should dismiss questions about LaVar, before going a step further and claiming he should challenge him to a game of one-on-one at the Lakers facility, putting it all on the line.

“If I was Luke Walton … I'd invite LaVar to the Lakers gym. I'm going to play him one-on-one, we'll put it all on Twitter, we can live broadcast and if he beats, me—matter of fact—if he scores a point on me, he can take over the coaching reigns. If he doesn't score a point, he can shut his mouth up… I'd play him for his Twitter account,” said Rapaport as a guest of Fox Sports' Chris Broussard's show In The Zone.

Not only is this idea super original, but also entertaining for all involved — after all, Walton's career average of 4.7 points in the NBA surpass the 2.2 points per game LaVar averaged in college through one season.

Walton, at 37 years of age, has a much better chance of having ready legs for a one-on-one encounter than the 50-year-old Ballfather. At 6-foot-8, Walton should also have the height and wingspan advantage over the 6-foot-5 Ball, making this a no-brainer.

While this is quite an unforeseeable outcome in reality, Rapaport added that Walton should be as cutting, rude, and disrespectful as LaVar appears to be toward him when asked about the Lakers during interviews.

The NBA's code of etiquette and the relationship with Lonzo would make that a tough option for Walton, Rob Pelinka, or anyone in the Lakers management.
