Los Angeles Lakers guard Malik Monk recently revealed how Nick Young influenced his choice of tattoos. Young said he only got tattoos on his left arm because his right arm was “strictly for buckets,” and a 17-year-old Monk adopted that mantra as well by only getting tattoos on his left arm.

Well, obviously, Young became aware of this, and he responded to this with a hilarious text to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, dropping a Karate Kid reference:

This is classic Swaggy P, who certainly got his share of buckets back in the day, including while playing for the Lakers.

Malik Monk has been getting buckets for the Lakers quite a bit lately, including in the 122-114 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. Monk poured in 24 points while knocking down six 3-pointers, with 11 of those points coming down the stretch to help secure the win.

Monk has been on a tear, going for at least 20 points in four of his last six outings. In the other two games, he combined for 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting.

For the season, the 23-year-old is averaging 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assist while shooting 47.7% overall and 38.4% from 3-point range. He has been a bright spot for the Lakers after coming over from the Charlotte Hornets, where he finally broke out last season after a sluggish start to his NBA career.

Los Angeles will need Monk to continue getting buckets. Monk's strong play has coincided with the Lakers looking better lately, and with Anthony Davis still out, LeBron James will need all the help he can get to keep winning games.

LeBron's crew is now 20-19 on the season, which is seventh in the Western Conference.
