Could Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James take the majority of the 2020-21 NBA season off?
He probably won't, knowing how competitive he is, but with a shortened break due to the season ending just a couple of weeks ago, he is not beyond joking about it.
On Uninterruptedâs The Shop, after former President Barack Obama jokes that he won't be getting back on defense for the first half of the season, LeBron jokes back, saying he's cherry-picking for the first half.

âHey, you gotta save yourself, man, for when it counts, let Anthony Davis do all the workâ Obama replied.
For those who are unfamiliar with the term, cherry-picking is a streetball term where a player stays near his or her team's offensive basket while on defense, leaving the squad shorthanded on that end but also giving the possibility to get an open spot off the outlet pass.
LeBron wouldn't really do that (except maybe on some transition plays, but even then it's doubtful), acknowledging his age and body not being what it used to be. The Lakers forward is now 35 years old, and he has been in the league for 17 years.
A more likely scenario is, especially in the beginning of the season, LeBron James' minutes will be heavily limited. Limited minutes or rest days for star players have been a complaint of fans for years now. However, with a limited offseason, the trend will be even more magnified due to players not having the time to recover.
