Tempers were flaring throughout Staples Center as the Los Angeles Lakers faced a massive deficit against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

First, Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard were seen getting heated with one another. Rajon Rondo also had an altercation with a fan sitting courtside. The Lakers guard was seeing gesturing at a fan with what appears to be a finger gun motion before the fan slapped away Rondo's arm in retaliation.

Here's a closer look at the exchange between Rondo and the Lakers fan.

The fan was eventually ejected from the arena well before the conclusion of the Lakers-Suns contest.

It's unclear what caused the dispute between Rajon Rondo and the fan. But the lopsided score against the Lakers probably was a factor in why frustrations were flying everywhere on the evening.

The purple and gold have looked lackluster in their first two contests of the NBA season. The arrival of Russell Westbrook hasn't been the shot in the arm that fans were anticipating when they acquired the former MVP in the offseason.

But there are still 80 games to go for the Lakers to figure this out. There were always going to be growing pains, but hopefully things don't escalate again like they did in this one.
