Plenty of clips of Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis' post-Game 4 Zoom availability have gone viral, as a reporter was interrupted by her dog mid-question, prompting a hilarious exchange to ensue.

The bit even featured a short cameo from fellow Lakers superstar LeBron James, who had his fun during the question:

Davis: “All I heard was ruff ruff.”

James: “The dog asked you a question, bro.”

Melissa Rohlin of Sports Illustrated didn't get to have her question answered by the Lakers star during the presser. So, naturally, she instead explained what it felt like to be mortified by her furry companion:

“The moment I was unmuted by the Lakers to ask a question after their 110-100 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 4 of their second-round playoff series Thursday, the doorbell rang. My five-year-old Border Collie, Kaya, who I affectionately call Kai Kai, sprung onto all fours after being passed out next to me and decided she MUST protect us.”

Yeah … been there, done that:

Unlike a sea of reporters in a closed-off part of the arena, dogs don't exactly adhere to a code of conduct. If there is a threat incoming or the slightest smell of pizza, best believe that dog is on the prowl.

Border Collies, in particular, are an incredibly instinctive breed and won't hesitate to bark if a non-familiar person comes within earshot.

Rohlin, who has covered the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors in the past, has a keeper anecdote despite the brief embarrassment. There won't be many times Kaya will take over her interviews once things return to normal, especially now that she has achieved her 22 seconds of fame.

As for Anthony Davis and the Lakers, they're one win away from the Western Conference Finals and a likely matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.
