Where Russell Westbrook ends up at the conclusion of this offseason is still up in the air. But the Los Angeles Lakers point guard isn't sitting on his hands waiting for things to happen.

Russell Westbrook has reportedly parted ways with his longtime agent Thad Foucher after a partnership that lasted throughout his entire 14-year NBA career. In a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Foucher spoke at length about their tenure and the eventual decision to part ways.

He cited “irreconcilable differences” as what caused their partnership to end, and also dropped an interesting nugget that hints to what Russell Westbrook is angling for this offseason:

“Now, with a possibility of a fourth trade in four years, the marketplace is telling the Lakers they must add additional value with Russell in any trade scenario. And even then, such a trade may require Russell to immediately move on from the new team via buyout.

“My belief is that this type of transaction only serves to diminish Russell's value and his best option is to stay with the Lakers, embrace the starting role and support that Darvin Ham publicly offered. Russell Westbrook is a first-ballot Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame player and will prove that again before he is retired.”

“Unfortunately, irreconcilable differences exist as to his best pathway forward and we are no longer working together. I wish Russell and his family the very best.”

It's not far-fetched to put two and two together to determine that the “irreconcilable differences” revolved around Faucher wanting Westbrook to stay in LA while the point guard wants the Lakers to trade him.

The offseason has been rife with speculation about the lack of harmony on the roster, particularly with the rampant rumors for a swap with the Brooklyn Nets for Kyrie Irving. This takes away one significant voice pining for the Westbrook to make things work with LeBron James and co.
