Safe to say, Russell Westbrook won't be receiving any Christmas care packages from reporters. Yet again. Westbrook has had his fair share of brushes with the media in the past, and his recent remarks, when asked about the struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers, sounded quite abrasive.

The Lakers suffered a third straight loss after getting embarrassed by the Suns on Tuesday. Westbrook and LeBron James carried the load as the team has been depleted by various injuries and COVID-19 protocols.

After the defeat, Westbrook was asked by reporters if frustration has cloaked the Lakers amid their latest slump. The former MVP, who is now being linked to trade rumors, was a bit irked (via Silver Screen and Roll).

“I mean that’s obvious. Everybody knows that, but nobody cares. They don’t want to hear that. That’s just reality. Because every game we get asked the same question of ‘Hey, can you guys figure it out.’ But everybody obviously knows that we haven’t been able to see what our team can actually be like thus far.”

The do-it-all guard, however, was also quick to temper his thoughts.

“But we understand that, and like I just said, our job is to be able to keep our head down, stay locked in on one common goal and that’s at the end of the year just winning a championship and to do that is not going to be easy. It’s not going to be an easy road. And we understand that and have to stay with it and continue to move forward.”

LeBron has reminded his teammates to stay together despite their struggles. The Lakers are now 16-16 and will try to snap their skid against the San Antonio Spurs this Thursday.
