Russell Westbrook hasn't been playing well for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he has been largely blamed for the team's shocking 1-2 start to the 2021-22 season. Despite the criticisms and concerns, though, Russ is not hitting that panic button just yet. He doesn't plan to, anyway.

As Westbrook noted, it is still early in the season and he and the rest of the Lakers are still figuring out to play with each other. Of course he can't stop people from worrying about his fit, especially since the Purple and Gold have really struggled, but there's one thing he can promise: he'll get better constantly.

“It’s all a process,” Westbrook said on his poor start with the Lakers, per Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated. “Everyone wants, as much as we do, we want to win every game, everybody thinks we should win every game, blah, blah, blah. We’ll figure it out.

“I’m O.K. with adversity. I never panic. Especially at the start of a season. There’s really no need to. A season is too long. It’s good to get off to a good start, to feel good about yourself. Especially me personally, I like to make sure that … as the season goes on I’m constantly getting better and better.”

Russell Westbrook's fit has been an issue for fans and experts alike ever since LA traded for him over the summer. After all, what the team needed was a shooter who can help them space the floor and fully utilize LeBron James' passing ability and overwhelming presence on the floor.

Unfortunately, Russ has never been a great shooter from beyond the art, being a career 30.5 percent shooter. He brings rebounding and athleticism in the backcourt for Frank Vogel's men, but clearly, the team hasn't adjusted to his style of play yet.

The good thing for the Lakers is that Brodie isn't bothered by the early returns, and he remains focused on finding the perfect role for him to help the team thrive.

Hopefully, though, the Lakers figure it out sooner rather than later.
