Los Angeles Lakers superstar Russell Westbrook has always been one of the best passers in the NBA, leading the league in assists thrice. But Westbrook has not only been good with assists on the hardwood, but he is also one of the best even off the court.

WNBA superstar Elena Delle Donne recently talked about how big of a help Westbrook has been on her road to recovery from a back injury that has kept her out of action since 2019.

As the two-time WNBA MVP is getting ready to make her return, Delle Donne praised Westbrook because he was often present early, even on game days just to help her with her workouts (via Insider).

“He would come in and rebound for me as I'm barefoot and shooting, you know, two footers close to the rim. Days I just didn't want to have it or just wanted to be in my feelings, there were moments like that where he would show up and bring me out of a funk.

(I'd) be like ‘I got this. I can keep doing this. He believes in me, these people believe in me, my teammates believe in me, I can do this. So there were some days, yeah, I wasn't believing in myself, but others were helping me through it.”

The Lakers' dynamic point guard certainly knows what it takes to make a comeback as he's had his fair share of injuries in his career.

It was sweet of Russell Westbrook to dish out an assist to a fellow basketball player who is in dire need of a support system after having a setback in her career.
