According to whispers gathered by Stephen A. Smith, Kyrie Irving — who'll be one of the top free agents this summer — has been talking to Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant.

As posted by Twitter user SagaOfNas, the initial consensus among those close to Irving says that there's no way that the 27-year-old will sign with the Lakers this summer to rejoin forces with LeBron James. But given this fresh set of information that Bryant and Irving have been talking, an Irving-James tandem might be a possibility in LA.

Rumors surround Irving leaving the Boston Celtics heightened after they were eliminated in the playoffs in five games at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks. It put an early end to their 2018-2019 campaign which was a disappointment for the most part.

They were tagged to be one of the contenders out East. But various rumors circulated, saying that there's a lack of off-court chemistry within the team. It subsequently trickled on to their court activity as evidenced by their subpar record.

Irving, too, admitted in January, that he called up James to apologize “for being that young player that wanted everything at his fingertips.” His admission created a whole rumor storm that another James-Irving team up will likely ensue in the summer.

As always, time will tell if such rumors and speculations turn out to be true. But without a doubt, this will be yet one of the biggest offseasons in recent history.
