Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso might have played his last game as a member of the Purple & Gold in the 2020-2021 NBA season as he enters free agency this summer. And, per reports, the rebuilding Cleveland Cavaliers could be on the lookout for a solid playmaker and Caruso is definitely part of their list.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the 27-year-old NBA champion, as well as Indiana Pacers guard TJ McConnell, are guards that are part of the initial list of the Cavs as they scour the market for a potential backup floor general.

Cleveland, a rebuilding team with a very promising young core, struggled to put a ton of wins on the board last season. They finished with a 22-50 record after the 2020-2021 regular season as the fourth-worst record in the league. The franchise was caught up with a ton of mid-season moves including the blockbuster deal that had James Harden going to the Brooklyn Nets which landed them big man Jarrett Allen and forward Taurean Prince. They also had to let go of starting center Andre Drummond, who eventually signed with the Lakers, after a controversial buyout.

The team was left with a bring young core comprised of Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, and rookie Isaac Okoro. Coming into this season, they've also managed to luck out and snag the third overall pick which puts them in a prime position to add more potential to their roster. Adding a feisty and dependable vet like Caruso would be nothing but huge for the Cavs at this point.
