It's no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers failed miserably in their quest to defend their title last season. Desperate times require desperate measures, as they say, and according to super-agent Rich Paul, this is going to come in the form of a drastic change involving LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the coming season.

Multiple outlets have already reported how NBA insiders Jake Fischer and Harrison Faigen have discussed a huge Rich Paul revelation that will have a significant impact on the Lakers in 2021-22:

Anthony Davis sliding to the center spot is not entirely shocking. AD played the five spot for many years with the New Orleans Pelicans, and he's also been known to take this same position with the Lakers on multiple occasions. It looks like it's going to be a permanent change for him this coming season, though. If Davis ends up as the starting center for LA, then Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan will be battling for limited backup minutes at the five.

LeBron James shifting to the power forward role is a bit more surprising. The four-time NBA champion has been LA's primary playmaker for a couple of years now, and his move to the four could mean a reduction in his playmaking duties for the Lakers. The arrival of Russell Westbrook definitely has a lot to do with this potential switch, with Russ likely taking over the starting PG spot for coach Frank Vogel.

The Lakers completely overhauled their squad in the offseason so it isn't shocking that they intend to implement a few drastic lineup changes for the campaign ahead. At least according to Rich Paul.
