According to previous reports, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of, if not the only team that has shown serious interest in acquiring Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets via a trade deal. This will potentially reunite Kyrie with LeBron James as they look to relive the glory of their time together as teammates with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

We all know how much influence LeBron has on the Lakers front office. As such, it wouldn't be improbable to think that James has been the driving force behind LA's Kyrie chase. In fact, NBA insider Jovan Buha of Bleacher Report recently revealed that The King has actually been putting pressure on the team to make this deal happen:

“Kyrie, I know he wants to be in LA. I know LeBron wants him in LA. He’s been behind the scenes putting some pressure,” Buha said on a recent podcast, via Hoop Central on Twitter.

This doesn't come as a surprise at all. Despite the fact that LeBron and Kyrie had their issues during their time together in Cleveland, there's no denying that they found a lot of success as teammates. Their 2016 championship is a clear testament to this fact.

You have to note, however, that trading for Kyrie is not going to be an easy task for the Lakers. The Nets will want a major haul for the seven-time All-Star, and it's not as if LA is in possession of a ton of trade assets right now. Nevertheless, with LeBron putting pressure on the front office, the Lakers are likely going to do everything they can to make this deal happen.
