Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was known for his tough exterior, killer instinct, and “Mamba Mentality.” That's the side of himself that the media and fans often remember, but according to former teammate Dwight Howard, Bryant had a different side to him.

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Howard told the story of when Bryant tore his Achilles in 2013. While he was recovering, Howard says that Bryant watched the movie “Pitch Perfect” — not exactly what you'd expect from the NBA superstar.

Bryant, of course, was killed in a tragic helicopter accident in Calabasas, California this past January at the age of 41. The crash also killed eight other passengers, which included Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Howard and Bryant played together in Los Angeles for just one season (2012-13) where the duo was a part of one of the most disappointing “super teams” in league history.

And although the relationship between the two was reportedly rocky at the time, Howard has since said that his relationship with Bryant had completely changed.

As for Howard himself, the 37-year-old center is back on the Lakers for the second time in his career. No longer a superstar, Howard is providing valuable bench minutes for Los Angeles, averaging 7.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting a career-high 73.4 percent from the floor and playing just 19.6 minutes a contest.
