Throughout the years, there have been countless stories about Kobe Bryant's legendary work ethic during his 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. Through these stories, it has not only inspired his peers but basketball fans around the world.

Originally the second overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Jay Williams remembers his first matchup against Bryant during his rookie season. He drove to Staples Center hours before tip-off, but there was Bryant already in the building according to Goalcast:

Williams prided himself on his work ethic but even after he was finished with his workout, Bryant was still preparing and eventually scored 40 points. Following the game, both players discussed their pre-game workouts and Bryant delivered another classic quote about his work ethic.

Throughout Bryant's career, he has outworked the competition en route to all the individual accomplishments and five championships. When players thought they arrived at the arena early, the 18-time All-Star was already there in a full sweat. When players enjoyed their nights off, Bryant was in the gym perfecting his craft.

Since retirement, Bryant has found a new passion in storytelling but remains involved in the game of basketball. Throughout the 2016-17 NBA season, numerous players like Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook either reached out for advice or worked out with Bryant.
