The Los Angeles Lakers are doing everything they can to try to remain upbeat following the tragic loss of Laker legend Kobe Bryantā€“and eight othersā€“in a tragic helicopter accident on Sunday morning:

Head coach Frank Vogel had his team play a game of football prior to the start of practice, potentially in an ode to the team's affinity for including football in their pregame warmups:

Looks like Anthony Davis needs to work on his route-running ability.

Naturally, the news of Bryant's death has made this a tough week for the Lakers. The team postponed their game against the crosstown rival Clippers on Tuesday, and Vogel spoke for the team yesterday as he discouraged reporters from interacting with the players.

However, the team is trying to find a way to come together in the wake of the tragedy. Players, coaches and executives shared Kobe stories at a luncheon on Tuesday, and Vogel has been adamant about the team's strong collective will in the face of such grief.

Some things are bigger than basketball, and the Lakers are finding new ways to try to have fun and enjoy the little things as they prepare to return to the Staples Center on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
