Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was front and center in a moving essay presented by none other than Stephen A. Smith. The renowned ESPN analyst shared a three-minute long video, which features all of LeBron's accomplishments from what has been a tumultuous 2020.

Smith posted the clip on his own Twitter account, which turned out to be a spot for SportCenter's new series, “2020 — Heroes, History and Hope”:

Smith narrated the video with his trademark voice and familiar fervor, which made the clip even more captivating. It perfectly captured the greatness that LeBron exhibited from the year that was — both on and off the basketball court. From emerging as a prominent voice behind the Black Lives Movement, to being named as TIME's Athlete of the Year, to beating the odds and winning the fourth championship of his illustrious career, there's no denying that James truly proved that he is indeed The King.

At the moment, however, there is very little time — if any — for LeBron to rest on his laurels. The Lakers kick off their title defense on Tuesday in an opening night matchup against none other than their cross-town rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. A grueling and demanding campaign lies ahead.

James did marvelous things in 2020, but all this is now part of history. He faces a new challenge ahead, and it's going to be even tougher this time around. Nonetheless, if there is anyone who's up to the task, then it has to be the great LeBron James.
