The Kobe and Gianna Bryant memorial was very emotional to watch. Seeing NBA legends Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal in tears is so strange since both guys are like Superman to most people.
The death of Bryant will likely be on the minds of Lakers fans and the basketball comminuity as a whole for a long time. This year's Lakers squad, led by superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, will surely do everything in their power to win the championship this season for Kobe and Gigi.
In 1,346 career games for the Lakers, Bryant cemented himself as one of the greatest Lakers of all time, if not the greatest. He finished with career averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, all while winning five titles with the Lakers, two Finals MVPs and other amazing accolades.
There will never be another Kobe Bryant. He will always be No. 1 in the hearts of basketball fans in Los Angeles.
In the immediate aftermath of the helicopter crash, mourning fans created a Bryant memorial outside Staples Center. Every item that was left at the memorial came with a handwritten note.
