The Los Angeles Lakers will be without one of their top point guards for a while. It has been reported by ESPN that Rajon Rondo will be out three to five weeks with a broken hand.

However, that didn't stop him from practicing Thursday:

Rondo broke his hand during Wednesday's game versus the Portland Trail Blazers. The good thing is the Lakers got a 126-117 win over the Blazers.

The Lakers have been finally getting on a roll as a team. They have won four straight games and moved to an 8-6 record on the season. They also have moved into the seventh seed in the Western Conference and are 3.5 games back of the Golden State Warriors.

Rondo is a key player for the Lakers' second unit. He is still one of the best passing point guards in the league who knows how to create for others and find the open man.

Rondo is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He is shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from 3.

The Lakers will be out on the road for their next game against the Orlando Magic on Saturday night. One thing to keep an eye on is how the team can overcome the loss of Rajon Rondo and how the players not only on the bench but from the starting lineup step up and replace his production.
